STANZA is an Incorporated
Society whose main objective is to promote and foster the
highest standards at all levels of playing and teaching of
all types of string instruments. |
|
ACTIVITIES | Through a national membership network we co-ordinate seminars and workshops led by local and visiting string specialists whose expertise will be of value to all members. Overseas visitors who have toured the national branches include Marvin Rabin, Sheila Nelson, Elizabeth Morgan, Robert Harris, Wendy Max, Robert Culver, Phyllis Young, Andreas Burzik, Selma Gokcen and Audrey Akerman. |
PUBLICATION | SoundPost, the national magazine of STANZA, is published twice yearly and contains reports of activities and articles of interest to string players and teachers, and is sent to all members. |
ADMINISTRATION
|
A National Executive
comprising representatives from all branches, conducts
planning meetings by teleconferencing. Branches run by smaller committees then plan their local programmes and contact members to advise them of forthcoming events. |
MEMBERSHIP | All string teachers and interested players
are encouraged to join STANZA as members in the following
categories: Individual, Associate (Groups etc.), or
Student. All financial members receive information about national and local branch activities and a reduced admission fee to each workshop/seminar/master class offered at branch level. Admission charges to workshops are set to cover expenses only. Members are encouraged to participate in master classes, workshops and group discussion. |
PATRONS | Kato Havas, Robert Master, Sheila Nelson, Dr Marvin Rabin, Wilma Smith and members of the New Zealand String Quartet. |
